Gibson summarizes in these words his own experience of reading and studying the Hamlet (of course, he studied this play also when preparing to the 1990 movie in which he starred as Hamlet): "great story… eight violent deaths, murder, incest, adultery, a mad woman, poison revenge and sword-fights…" (Clarkson, p. 293).
